Described as the Irish Kate Bush, County Roscommon singer-songwriter, Ciara Lawless releases her new album ‘Divine Intervention’ on May 2nd.

‘Divine Intervention’, the new album from South Roscommon singer-songwriter Ciara lawless, will be released on May 2nd.

Blending catchy melodies with a poignant message, ‘Divine Intervention’ takes listeners on a journey of self-discovery, transformation, and resilience. ‘Divine Intervention’ is aptly named following a life-altering farm accident when Ciara from Taughmaconnell was six years old. Left unable to walk for six months, Ciara found solace in music.

Learning piano and guitar became a way to heal and cope with the trauma, turning pain into creativity. From finding her artistic authenticity, broken heels, and eating disorders Ciara describes her sophomore album as “an upbeat collection of empowerment songs inspired by a childhood accident that showed her that we are all connected and with the power of people, a strong belief and blind faith we can achieve anything.”

Her music reflects her love for ’80s music. She explains: “The album is fresh and new, but by using an ’80s-inspired palette, it feels familiar and timeless.” This approach creates a unique cross-generational appeal, with Ciara’s catchy hooks and memorable melodies, this collection of songs will resonate across all ages.

The album opens with single ‘Dreams’, where do dreams go when they are not given the love to grow? The song’s message is about embracing change while taking control of your life. ‘Running’ and ‘Unbreakable’ explore the tension between fear and inner strength. After recovering from an eating disorder Ciara wrote ‘Running’ portraying the inner battle between the mind and heart when she was facing her fears whilst learning to look for the beauty amidst the chaos. Meanwhile, new single ‘Unbreakable’, written after a terrible experience in another country finds Ciara attempting to list the positive things about the environment around her, only for her to realise that the grass isn’t always greener. The message being, when we choose to love we are unbreakable and that's the power of the universe.

Known for her soulful voice and iconic flower head crowns that she makes herself, she has made waves on the festival circuit, earning recognition as a dynamic live performer.
