New acts announced for Night & Day in Boyle

David Hope has been involved in booking gigs in his native county of Clare for more than 15 years.

Night and Day has announced nine new acts to play on its ‘Electric Cave’ stage at the Night and Day Festival at Lough Key Forest Park in Boyle from June 27th to 29th.

The new acts added to the lineup are: David Hope, Molly O’Mahony, Alannah Thornburg, Moon Looks On, No Oil Paintings, Barceló Brothers, David Murphy, Sarah Buckley and Eoin Jordan.

Perched on the embankment overlooking Lough Key, the Electric Cave stage will feature traditional, folk, country and roots artists.

Curated by two veterans of the Irish music scene Uri Kohen and David Hope, the intimate Electric Cave stage will feature a blend of artists the pair have worked with in the past, and some that they are excited to introduce to a wider audience.

Uri Kohen founded Electric Cave Productions in 2004 and has booked hundreds of gigs across Westport and the west of Ireland.

He formed the Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival in 2007, which is now regarded as the leading bluegrass festival in Ireland and one of the genre’s main events in Europe.

Since 2018, Kohen has been concentrating in booking Irish tours for international acts, and expanding his work with the International Bluegrass Music Association.

Commenting on the announcement, Night and Day Festival Director Brendan Hurley said: “It’s a great privilege to have Uri and David, who have been ingrained in the Irish music scene for so long, curating the Electric Cave stage at Night and Day.

“The Electric Cave will bring a new dimension to the festival that we’re sure will captivate audiences for years to come,” he said.
