Arigna vocalist set to launch new album

An Arigna vocalist is set to launch her new album this weekend.
Martina Rynn’s new album, ‘Songs from the Valley’ will be launched on Saturday.
The well-known piano and singing teacher says her first album includes a wide scope of genres ranging from Irish country, American country and some ‘60’s music.
‘Songs from the Valley’ takes its name from the scenic Arigna landscape native to Martina, and two of the songs feature her son, Brendan.
Having taught music for 30 years, she spoke of the influences on her first foray into music production. “Charlie McGettigan was always saying to me, you really need to do an album, and I'm just glad I did,” she said.
She thanked him for “giving me the push to do it”.
Martina also give huge credit to Leo Logan of Vibes Studio. “He recorded, and mixed and mastered the album. He's just a genius, and nothing was ever a problem to Leo.” The launch show starts at 8 p.m. this Saturday at the Arigna Mining Experience Centre.
Artists performing on the night include Charlie McGettigan, Aoife Duignan, Carol O’Dowd, Katie and Emily McNamara, Clodagh Daly, Billy Faughnan alongside Martina and her son Brendan.
CDs will be available on the night. Admission at the door is €10 for adults and €5 for children.
