Boyle native and chairman of the New York City St Patrick’s Day Foundation, Hilary Beirne from Rathdiveen, has been honoured in Boston with a Golden Bridges Ambassador Award. The award was presented at the 15th annual Golden Bridges Conference.
The ceremony, hosted by the Consul General of Ireland in Boston, Sighle FitzGerald at the Irish consulate in the city, was held in conjunction with the Golden Bridges Conference which promotes the connection between the United States and the Northwest of Ireland and is supported by Derry City & Strabane District Council, and the Donegal County Council.
Hilary Beirne’s recognition comes as a result of his many years of work promoting Ireland on the international stage with his work with the iconic New York City’s St Patrick’s Day Parade, the Irish Ad Hoc Committee in Washington, DC and with Irish nationals living abroad.

Today for too many people, it can still just take one small problem to tip someone into crisis and poverty. It can be an unexpected illness or unexpected bills. The St. Vincent de Paul St. Joseph’s Conference, Boyle knows that a little help at the right time can help a family during these difficult times.
Thank you to so many of you who regularly support the work. Without this help, the organisation simply would not be able to support those struggling and in need of help. This Christmas please support the annual appeal. The annual collection will take place at St. Joseph’s Church this weekend, December 9th/10th where envelopes will be available in the porch.
Envelopes received through the post may also be returned to the church. Alternatively, you can donate directly to the Boyle Conference by phoning 0818176176 or online to svp.ie/stjosephsconferenceboyleappeal23 Thank you for your continued generosity.
