Fr Micheal Donnelly wishes to express sincere gratitude and thanks to all who were involved in organising the Farewell Mass and function in his honour on Sunday, September 6th last in Ballinagare. He thanks you for allowing him to be part of your families during the past eleven and a half years, for the beautiful set of vestments, which he will always treasure, for the gift vouchers, which he will put to good use, the food, goodies, music, fun and laughter in the hall afterwards and for making his family feel so welcome. The four areas will always hold a very special place in his heart, mind and prayers. May God bless you all. Fr. A meeting will take place in Frenchpark Parish Hall on Monday, September 21st next at 8 p.m.. New members will be particularly welcome. A lot of good work has been done around the village and the group is hoping to continue to improve the area.
Caroline and James Feeley are hosting a coffee morning at their home in Mantua (F45E337) in aid of the Roscommon/Mayo Hospice on Thursday, September 24th next. Everyone very welcome.

Bróga Bríomhar Dance School will take place in Tibohine Community Centre on Mondays from 3.45 p.m. to 4.15 p.m.. Registrations are now open for the new Sean Nós dancing term. Whether you’re taking your very first dance steps or looking to continue your journey, the classes are full of fun, friendship, confidence, culture and dancing. The peaceful death occurred of Mrs Eileen Daly, Frenchpark and formerly of Edmondstown, Ballaghaderreen on Wednesday, September 9th last at Drumderrig Nursing Home in Boyle. Predeceased by her husband, Edward (Ted) and her sister, Lila, the late Mrs Daly (née Doohan) will be sadly missed by her loving family, sons, Darragh and Ciaran; daughters, Geraldine and Áine; sisters, Frances, Geraldine and Rose; granddaughter, Síofra and her mother Brenna; extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Her remains were removed from her home to St. Asicus’ Church, Frenchpark on Saturday, September 12th last. Mass of the Resurrection was followed by a Committal Service at Sharkey’s Cremation Chapel in Loughglynn.
The death occurred peacefully of Mr Patrick Kerrigan, Cloonfad, Rathowen, Donnybrook and late of Frenchpark on Thursday, September 10th at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin. Known locally as Pat, he was pre-deceased by his father, Joseph and mother, Annie. He is deeply regretted by his brother, James, sister-in-law, Marie, Aunty Margaret, relatives, friends and neighbours. Following Requiem Mass on this Tuesday, September 15th (today) at 11 a.m. in St Mary’s Church, Rathowen, burial will take place in Russagh Cemetery.

May they rest in peace CHURCH NEWS Masses will be held in Tibohine at 7 p.m. and Ballinagare at 8.30 p.m. on Saturday (19th) and Frenchpark at 10 a.m. and Fairymount at 11.30 a.m. on Sunday, September 20th. Many thanks is extended to Sharkey Funeral Directors for donating a new set of Stations of the Cross in Fairymount Old Cemetery. The generosity is gratefully appreciated.
Western Gaels held its weekly lottery draw on Saturday, September 12th last. There was no jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 2, 8, 27 and 33. Cash prize winners (€20 each) were Daniel/Martina Carroll, Kieran Farrell, Jack Freeman, Alan Hopkins and David Ryan. The next draw (jackpot €4,400) will take place at the clubhouse in Frenchpark on this Saturday, September 19th. Tickets are available on-line through the Clubforce app or from local outlets.
