Local Notes: Coffee Morning, Badminton, Irish Conversation
There was a huge crowd for the Adrian Brogan Memorial Walk in Boyle last weekend raising funds for Mayo Roscommon Hospice.
Boyle Ladies GAA marked their 20th anniversary last weekend. Congratulations to Western Gaels, winners of the Sean Daly Cup, following a great final against Northern Harps. Well done to the other U-13 teams, all played all morning with great spirit and skill - Boyle, St Michael’s/St Ronan’s and St Barry’s. Later the club was delighted to see hundreds of people take part in the Adrian Brogan Memorial Walk, raising funds for Mayo Roscommon Hospice. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported this very special event. It was wonderful to welcome everyone back to the clubhouse afterwards for plenty of chat, cups of tea, sandwiches and, of course, cake. All enjoyed a great display of photographs from 2006 to 2026. Organisers are grateful to all participants, stewards, volunteers, bakers and committee members who gave their time and energy to make the day such a success. A special thank you to the Boyle GAA Committee, and in particular Aidan Lavin, for the fantastic work, as always, in ensuring the grounds and facilities at Abbey Park were looking absolutely ship-shape. The club was very proud to welcome so many people to the wonderful facilities at Abbey Park. Thank you to everyone who helped remember 20 years of Boyle Ladies GAA — a day full of football, community, friendship and memories.
