COOTEHALL COMMUNITY TEXT ALERT

There will be a re-launch of the Cootehall Community Text Alert group at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22nd in the Ardcarne Park Complex. Community Alert is a care and safety programme set up in partnership with An Garda Siochana with an emphasis on crime prevention and encouraging members of the public to look out for each other to build safer neighbourhoods. Key to the relaunch will be a fresh start with all previous phone numbers deleted so if you previously registered your phone number to receive community text alerts from An Garda Siochana then you should come along with your €10 (cash) annual registration fee to be included in the community alert scheme. The funds are needed so that each local group has to have its own insurance, pay monthly affiliation fees and pay a national monitoring company to issue text alerts on behalf of the Garda Siochana. Those new to the scheme are invited to come along and listen to the speakers, An Garda Siochana and the Muintir Na Tire Development Officer who will explain the benefits and opportunities this scheme offers to the Cootehall community.
