Are you new to Boyle? Pop in Friday, December 1st anytime from 10 a.m. to 12 noon to Boyle Family Resource Centre. Meet and chat about what’s available locally. If you are part of a local club and would like to come along, please give the centre call, and book a stand.

SHORT BREAKS SCHEME 

Would you be interested in providing home from home short breaks for children and adults who have an intellectual disability? SPCA COLLECTION 

Roscommon SPCA will hold its annual church gate collections in the coming weeks. On December 2nd and 3rd, a collection will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Boyle. All support would be greatly appreciated by the SPCA Charity. All money collected goes directly to animal welfare in the county.

AL-ANON FAMILY GROUP 

 Are you concerned about someone else’s drinking? Al-Anon, family group provides help for family and friends of problem drinkers. Boyle Al-Anon meetings are held in St. Joseph’s Resource Centre (F52N260) on Mondays at 8.30 p.m.

CE SCHEME VACANCY

BOYLE BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT 

Boyle breastfeeding support group is space where you and your baby or if you are pregnant and thinking about breastfeeding will receive lots of support, a warm welcome and a cuppa. The group meets the last Friday of every month in Boyle Family Resource Centre 0719663000.

FAMILY SUPPORT DROP-IN CLINIC 

The Boyle Family Support Drop-in Clinic is a confidential space for parents/guardians and families to drop in for a listening ear and receive support about issues and concerns that they may have about themselves and/or their children. The drop-in is open Wednesday mornings during primary school term in Boyle Family Resource Centre between 9.30 a.m. and 12 noon. This is an interagency project together with Boyle FRC, Foroige, Tusla & Roscommon Safe link.

FOOD PACKAGES 

If you and/or your family need food, Boyle Family Resource Centre distributes weekly food packages. Please call into the centre to complete a registration form. The centre operates two schemes ESF+ and Food Cloud.

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO LOUGH KEY 

 Santa Claus and his team of elves, Rudolph, Mrs Claus and Frosty the Snowman will be making a special stop at Lough Key Forest & Activity Park on Sunday, December 17th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.. Meet and greet with Santa. Please note, no booking necessary. This will be an outdoor meet-and-greet event. So, come along and join in the festive atmosphere and enjoy Christmas at Lough Key.

COOTEHALL VILLAGE ENHANCEMENT GROUP 

A public meeting will be held on Thursday, November 30th at 8 p.m. in the Ardcarne Park Complex (St. Michael’s GAA) to introduce the committee and the aims for the beautiful village; to get feedback on what people feel the village needs and to give an update on plans for the Barracks Park. If you are living in Cootehall and the surrounding area it would be great to see you there and to hear your voice.

MEMORY CAFÉ 

Roscommon Leader Partnership hosts a monthly cafe to help support people affected by dementia, their families and carers. Next month's event takes place on Wednesday, December 13th at 2.30 p.m. in Mo Chairde -St Ronan’s Hall, Keadue and will include music, song, advice and a chat. BABY/TODDLER GROUP 

The baby and toddler group in Knockvicar meets every Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Knockvicar Community Centre, Cleen Hall, F52 A497, cost is €3 per family. This group is open to all parents, childminders, grandparents of babies and toddlers in the surrounding community. ST MICHAEL’S FUEL DRAW 

The St. Michael’s GAA Club’s super Fuel & Holiday Draw is in full swing now and all club members should have received their allotted cards or will receive them shortly. All the cards should be returned by Monday, December 18th to either the person who gave the cards or any fuel draw committee member on the bottom of the cover sheet. The draw will be in Clancy’s Bar, Knockvicar on Friday, December 29th.

PITCH WALKWAY 

The walkway at Ardcarne Park will remain open throughout the winter as evenings get darker and longer. All registered club members are encouraged to use these facilities for walking or getting together for a chat. Lights will remain on until 10 p.m. every evening.

ST MICHAEL’S AGM

 The AGM of St Michael’s GAA Club will take place on Thursday, December 7th in the club rooms of Ardcarne Park. Time to be decided.
