On Sunday last, St. Brigid’s coach Evan Talty experienced both victory and defeat.

Yesterday, Talty was part of his native club Kilmurry/Ibrickane’s management team that lost out to an Éire Óg outfit that secured a three in a row of Clare SFC titles.

Meanwhile, St. Brigid’s, who Talty is involved with for a second successive year, retained the Fahey Cup for the first time since 2017 following an enthralling 1-25 to 2-16 extra time win over Pádraig Pearses.

Last month, Talty helped Rathmore win the Kerry senior club championship for only the second time in the club’s history. A Rathmore side, managed by five time All Ireland winner Aidan O’Mahony, ended an 11 year wait for the title.

Talty spent two years with the Limerick senior footballers as a selector, helping them win the Division 4 league title and reach the Tailteann Cup final in 2025.

He also served as a coach with the Roscommon U-20 footballers when they claimed provincial silverware in 2024.
