Glenamaddy Players will be performing pre All-Ireland shows of 'Class' by Iseult Golden and David Horan and directed by Coman Keaveny on Friday, April 18th and Monday, April 21st in Glenamaddy Town Hall Theatre at 8 p.m.
The annual cake sale in aid of Crossna Community Centre, Cleen Hall, will be held on Good Friday at 4 p.m.. Cakes etc may be handed in at the centre from 2.30 p.m. onwards.

The painting of Cootehall Church has been completed. It has been an expensive project and donations towards the cost of the painting are still very welcome.
Drumboylan National School celebrates 75 years this year and a celebration day will take place on Sunday, May 4th. Please keep this date in your diary.

Huge congratulations to all the children who proudly represented St. Michael’s at Scór na bPáistí in Elphin. Robyn McGarry faced stiff competition to win gold in solo singing—well done, Roby.! Two ballad groups represented St. Michael’s, with Ballad Group A winning silver—a fantastic achievement. Well done to Eoin Christie, who also took part in solo singing. The children who participated were Eoin Christie, Robyn McGarry, Lauren McGarry, Lily Harte, Caoimhe McLoughlin, Aoibheann McLoughlin, Aoibheann Beirne, Ellen Ring, Laoise Simon, Laura Simon, and Sarah Stanley. A huge thank you to Annmarie Harte, Aoife Conlisk, and Niamh Conlisk for all the help.
Our Mindful Minds Easter Camp 2025 will take place on Tuesday, April 22nd and Wednesday, April 23rd in the John McGahern Barracks, Cootehall from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. Cost, €60. Suitable for 4–12-year-olds. This cap will include fun mindfulness activities, creative arts and crafts, nature exploration, games, stories and poems, movement, music and guided meditations. The Ardcarne Community Games Sports Day will take place on Monday, May 5th.
Tickets are now on sale for Cootehall Village Enhancement Group’s fundraising raffle. There are over 20 great prizes including restaurant meal vouchers, many cash prizes, hampers and a two-night stay at a luxury three-bedroom lodge at Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway. All proceeds will go towards the enhancement of the beautiful village of Cootehall. The fundraiser comes to a climax in Henry’s Bar, Cootehall on Saturday, April 19th where tickets will be drawn after 9 p.m.. Live music and free entry on the night.
It’s great to see the local amenities being used to train youngsters and adults in kayaking and sit on top sessions on Oakport Lake, Cootehall. All equipment including wet suits, helmets etc is provided. Contact Deirdre on 086 1952663.
The Millennium Choir is back in action. All singers (past, present and future) are invited to attend the AGM on this Tuesday, April 8th at 8 p.m. in Carrick Community School. New singers are welcome. For information call 086 067 5283. Singing is good for the soul.
The late Cllr Tony Waldron started the Rambling House and got ALONE and Suck Valley Way involved. In a fitting tribute to his memory, a Rambling House will be held on Sunday, April 20th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Kenny’s Lounge, Ballintubber. Also remembered will be the late Gerry Burke, accordion player who passed away on St. Patrick's Day. Gerry loved the Rambling House sessions and will be missed. The Rambling House sessions will live on and continue to take place in various venues to encourage people to come together in rural communities. The sessions are relaxed, inclusive and fun. Come along and share your music, songs, dancing or poetry. Everyone is welcome. Tea and coffee will be served and there will be a children’s corner with art and Lego.

At a recent meeting organised by the St. John’s Cemetery Committee, some of the committee expressed a desire to retire from their positions and that a new committee be formed. A committee was duly nominated and formed as follows: Chairperson, Sean Quinn; Vice Chairperson, Donal Kilduff; Secretary, Aoife Dowling; Treasurer, James Kelly; Assistant Treasurer, David Kilduff; PRO, Arnold Donnelly; other committee members, Paddy Kilduff; Gerard Quinn and Gerard Fallon. The outgoing committee was commended and thanked for all the work over recent years in organising and overseeing the improvements to the cemetery, namely the removal of tress, planting of hedges, installation of seating and laying new paths and walkway as well as the routine maintenance such as grass mowing. The new committee would appreciate some further assistance with grass mowing. If you would like to help in any way, please contact any committee member. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
The annual Scor Na bPaisti Competition was held in St. John’s Community Centre on Friday night, March 28th. Well done to all the pupils who participated in the competition. Pupils from Glanduff NS participated figure dancing, instrumental music and novelty act. Congratulations to the novelty act winners. Special thanks to those who helped prepare the children.
