An electric scrambler, which was being driven by a child, has been seized in Dublin.

Separately, gardaí have taken control of several electric scooters and cars in the city.

Posting on social media, gardaí said they seized an electric scrambler which was being driven on a public road in Dublin by a 10-year-old.

The discovery of the miniature bike was made during proactive operations in the Dublin Metropolitan East region this week and comes as the government prepares to introduce a complete ban on scramblers in public places.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation, gardaí at Kevin Street took control of 10 electric scooters and six cars.

A total of 33 fixed charge notices were issued, with court dates to follow for a number of people.
