Man (40s) dies following e-scooter crash in Galway

A man has died following an e-scooter crash in Salthill in Galway city.

Gardaí say the single-vehicle crash happened on Friday at around 8.30pm outside the former Spinnaker House Hotel.

The rider, a man in his 40s, was brought to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries and later died.

Forensic investigators carried out an examination of the scene and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

In particular, they have asked anyone who has footage of the area from between 8.15pm and 9pm on Friday to make it available to Gardaí.
