Man (50s) dies and two women (60s) in hospital after assault in Dublin

A man in his 50s has died following a fatal assault in Dublin in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The attack happened shortly before 1.30am on Foster Terrace, Dublin 3.
The man was discovered with serious injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. His remains are still at the scene.
Two women in their 60s were also removed to hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injures.
One woman remains in hospital awaiting discharge, while the other woman is receiving medical treatment for serious injuries.
The scene on Foster Terrace and a nearby domestic residence have been preserved for forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. The Coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Mountjoy Garda Station.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Investigating gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information in relation to this incident, to come forward.
They are also appealing to anyone with camera footage, including motorists with dashcam footage from the area between 1am and 1.30am on Saturday 31st January 2026, to contact them.
