As part of Astronomy Ireland week, local artist David Patton is holding an exhibition of photography in Rathcroghan Visitor Centre.

The 12 photos are a collection of the Milky Way and Northern Lights as captured over the sites of the Rathcroghan complex and surrounding area.

The darkness of our local skies and the unique archaeological heritage that this landscape holds make for spectacular and surreal photographic opportunities.

David has patiently waited through long nights to capture these images, working with any weather window, and taking advantage of any astrological events that coincide with the correct conditions.

David gave a short talk at the launch on Saturday  and the exhibition will run to Saturday, March 16th.
