Book of condolence opens for late Councillor Anthony Waldron

As a mark of respect to the late Cllr Anthony Waldron, both the tricolour and Roscommon flag will be lowered to half-mast at Aras an Chontae.
A Book of Condolence for the late Cllr. Waldron will be available for the public to express their sympathies in Áras an Chontae from this morning.
The Independent councillor, who was aged in his 60s, passed away on Sunday.
Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council Cllr Paschal Fitzmaurice said everyone was deeply shocked and saddened at the news of Cllr Waldron’s untimely death.
On behalf of the executive, the council and its members, Cllr Fitzmaurice expressed his deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Newly appointed Senator Gareth Scahill described Cllr Waldron as “a friend, colleague and an advisor”.
Former minister and TD, Denis Naughten also offered his sincere sympathy and that of his family's to Cllr Waldron’s relatives, friends and constituents.
"We are all shocked to learn of the sudden passing of Cllr Tony Waldron," he said.
"He was an excellent public representative and wonderful ambassador for County Roscommon (particularly for the Suck Valley Way)."
