Mr Callan graduated from Trinity College with BA (Mod Legal Science) in 1984, served his apprenticeship with Binchy Fagan Fawsitt in Merrion Square, Dublin, and started with CE Callan & Co. in 1987 Callan Tansey Solicitors said that over the last 35 years, he had given his time, knowledge and wisdom to all of his colleagues and so many clients.

In a statement issued to the Roscommon Herald, the law firm, which has several regional offices including in Boyle, congratulated Mr Callan on his success.

“This is a proud day for Christopher, Denise, his mother Rosemary and children, Matthew, Rosanna, Nicholas and Molly. His father Tom, whom many of you knew, would have been especially proud.

“This is not only a great achievement for Christopher personally and his family but it’s also a great day for the practice. We think it’s only right to give a special mention to Ann Filan who has worked alongside Christopher for many years,” said the firm.

“We wish Christopher all the very best as he embarks on this new chapter and we thank him for his invaluable contribution to the firm over the last 15 years.

“His calm, reflective and collegiate approach has been of immense benefit to all of us and will undoubtedly serve him well on the bench,” said Callan Tansey Solicitors.
