Gardaí investigating incident at Roscommon filling station

Gardaí in Roscommon are investigating an incident at Casey's Filling Station in Roscommon Town at around Midnight on Sunday night.

It is understood that a motorist approached the forecourt area at speed and the vehicle overturned colliding with a fuel pump and bollards.

When contacted, gardaí said they responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at a commercial premises on Athlone Road, Roscommon at around 11:40pm last night.

A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged to appear before Roscommon District Court later this month.

A fuel pump at the busy forecourt, which remains open, has been cordoned off and gardaí are investigating the incident.
