There will be fun for all the family at Boyle Summer Show.

The 16th annual Boyle Summer show will take place today, Sunday, August 10th at The Warren, Abbeytown, Boyle from 12 noon to 5 p.m.

Parking will be available locally on the day (F52TA48).

The hardworking show committee has been very busy organising a wonderful day out for the entire community.

The show’s schedule will be similar to recent years with some new additions. The very popular Fuinseog wooden games as well as Konor Halpin’s juggling, plate spinning and Diablo will be back again. The committee looks forward to welcoming Declan Diver with his model machinery, as well as James Prenty with his dogs and ducks. Sabrina will be on site to give her best advice about dog training.

The committee is looking forward to welcoming Roscommon SPCA, who do wonderful work for animals throughout the county.

Joe will also be on site with his fun photo booth, creating great memories of the day.

New this year will be magician and mentalist Conor - so be prepared to be amazed and Jack Murphy is coming along to showcase his wonderful blacksmithing skills.

There are numerous categories to enter in the marquee – vegetables, horticulture, baking, photography, arts and crafts.

The committee will also be on the lookout for the best six sods of black or brown turf and don’t forget to bring along your longest sod as it may even win you a prize.

Entries can be dropped off between 9.30 a.m. and 11.45 a.m. on the morning of the show.

Organisers are not forgetting the junior members who can also enter many competitions and win rosettes as well as monetary prizes.

There will be a welcome for little elves, fairies and pixies along and the best dressed will win a prize.

Judges will be on the lookout for the best dressed adult, most glamorous granny or gorgeous grandad and the person with the funkiest pair of footwear.

This year there is a mini golf course, where you can test out your golfing skills and plenty of carnival games to try out.

The very popular dog show will once again take place with 21 categories to choose from. The competition will be held under canvas so whatever the weather is like, it won’t be an issue.

The committee is very grateful to Stewart’s Oil and GAIN dog foods for their sponsorship and support for the dog show.

Music will be provided on the day by popular musician Rory McDonnell.

The Order of Malta will administer First Aid if required and the many stewards will be on hand to help with parking and health and safety assistance, so please follow their advice.
