Memorial mass to be held for Roscommon man who died in Canadian camping accident

Memorial Mass and celebration of his life will take place in St. Patrick’s Church, Crossna, on Saturday, May 23rd at 3p.m..

A memorial mass will be held this Saturday to celebrate the life of a Knockvicar man who sadly passed away following a camping accident in Canada.

35-year-old Charlie Beirne a native of Knockvicar, Boyle, Co Roscommon was living in Chilliwack, Canada at the time of the accident in Vancouver, Canada on April 17th.

Following his tragic passing his former GAA club, St. Michael’s said it was deeply saddened to hear the news of his death. “Charlie was a talented player and played football for many years. His character lit up every room, and his passing has left our club in shock. Our thoughts are with all of his family at this extremely difficult time,” said the club.

Charlie will be deeply missed by his heartbroken fiancé Taylor, his adored son Shae and their dog Nala. 

He was the cherished son of Cathal and Anne Beirne and his sisters Kelly (Tim) and Eimhear, Taylor's parents Kristen and Mike Walker, Taylor's sister Payton (Gavin) and her brother Marcus (Christine), his nieces and nephews Monica, Amari, Marely, Oliver, Tristan, Olivia, Ava, Amelia and Ace, his aunts, uncles and cousins and wide circle of friends and neighbours.

Memorial Mass and celebration of his life will take place in St. Patrick’s Church, Crossna, on Saturday, May 23rd at 3p.m.. The Beirne and Walker families appreciate your sympathy and support at this difficult time.
