The County Roscommon businessman who died suddenly while on holiday in San Francisco on March 30th will be laid to rest in Boyle on Wednesday.

Desmond (Dessie) McLoughlin who set up the Boyle IT company, Trojan was known the length and breadth of the country not just for his involvement in business, but for his charitable works and his involvement in a range of community and sporting organisations.

Pre-deceased by his father, Martin and brother, Enda, he is survived by his wife, Margaret; mother, Nuala; children, Kyle, Ben and Gina; daughters-in-law, Cassandra and Aoife; cherished grandchildren, Leon, Fiadh, Ellie and Belle; his brothers and sister, David, Raymond, Brendan and Karen; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernie, Martina, Assumpta, Willie, Jackie, Brian, Caroline and John, his nephews, nieces, extended family, and many friends.

Reposing at his son Ben's residence on Monday, April 8th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, April 9th from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.. House private outside of these times, please. As there is no parking available at the house, shuttle buses are being made available from St Joseph's Church Grounds, Carrick Road, Boyle.

Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, April 10th in St Joseph's Church, Boyle, at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Assylinn Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live by logging on to http://www.boyleparish.ie).

In a statement, the team at Trojan, the company founded by Dessie, said: “It is with a heavy heart that we let you know of the sad loss of our dear friend, colleague, and founder Desmond McLoughlin.

His sudden and untimely passing has been a massive shock to his family, friends, the entire Trojan team, and the wider community.

“Des was affectionally known by his many friends and colleagues as a passionate, caring, and generous man. We feel privileged to have known and worked with Des over the years.

“He has left behind a legacy within Trojan of being innovative, supportive, and encouraging and instilled these values in all our team.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Des’s wife Margaret, his mother Nuala, his children Kyle, Ben and Gina and his extended family.

“We appreciate everyone’s support and patience through this difficult time.”
