Sixth Years Enjoy a Performance of ‘Hamlet’

On Tuesday, November 6th, Sixth Year higher level students of English got to enjoy a wonderful performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ in the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone. Hamlet is the single text that will appear on the 2024 Leaving Certificate Higher Level English paper and getting to see a live performance of the work will undoubtedly be of great benefit to the girls in interpreting and analysing the text. Thanks to the Gaiety School of Acting for the fabulous performance and to English teachers, Ms Loftus, Ms Sheerin, Ms Shanley and Ms O’Dowd for organising the outing and accompanying the students on the trip.

First Year Football Success

Congratulations to the First Year football panel, who defeated Moate Community School in a friendly match on Friday, November 10th. It was a close game throughout, but the Bower girls managed to pull through and win the game by the narrowest of margins, one point. Some great talent was displayed by the young squad in their first outing together as a team, and the victory marks a promising start to the first year football season. The girls are looking forward to their upcoming league in the new year. Well done to the girls and to their coaches, Ms Daly, Ms Cuddy and Ms Fallon.
