Roscommon County Council has moved to take over a derelict property in Boyle.

The local authority has issued a formal vesting order in relation to a derelict property in the North Roscommon town known as Tidy Terrace on St. Patrick’s Street.

A vesting order is a statutory legal order issued under the Derelict Sites Act that compulsively transfers ownership of a piece of land or property to the council.

Once a vesting order takes effect, the council becomes the full owner of the property.

A copy of the vesting order and its accompanying reference map are available for public inspection at the Housing Department, Roscommon County Council, Áras an Chontae, Roscommon (F42 VR98).

The council’s public notice regarding the Boyle property states that any individual who held an estate, interest, or right in the land immediately prior to the order has a period of twelve months from the date of the making of the order to apply for compensation to the council.
