Council set to take court action against second unauthorised development in County Roscommon

Roscommon County Council is set to commence court action against a second unauthorised development in the Hodson Bay area in South Roscommon.
The local authority had previously confirmed to the Herald that it was pursuing planning enforcement in relation to two “unauthorised developments” on lands which are in close proximity to each and located off the N61.
The local authority confirmed today, Wednesday, that a case involving one of the developments, which includes an access road, chalets, mobile homes, and a large storage shed, still “remains before the courts”.
The council also stated previously that in relation to the second unauthorised development on lands “further north”, an enforcement notice was issued on Friday, July 11th “under Sections 154 and 155 requiring the cessation of works and stipulating actions to remedy this matter”.
Today, a council spokesperson revealed that this case “has been advanced to our legal representatives to initiate court proceedings”.
