Illegal dumping of household rubbish at the plots area in Ballaghaderreen has been slammed by a local councillor.
Independent councillor Micheal Frain said that thousands of euro of taxpayers money had already been spent cleaning this area.
Cllr Frain said that the rubbish strewn was mostly recyclable and compostable.
“To the person responsible — your name is clearly visible on a parcel left among the waste. I’m asking you to please return and remove your rubbish immediately.
“I intend to bring a notice of motion before Roscommon County Council to require landlords to provide bins for tenants to avoid a repeat of this situation. Let’s keep Ballaghaderreen clean and respect our community,” he said.
