A community fundraising campaign in aid of the MS North West Therapy Centre in Sligo has already surpassed the €5,000 mark, following a hugely successful day of music and family entertainment at The Leitrim Inn on Monday, August 3rd.
With donations continuing to come in, the fundraiser remains open on iDonate for the entire month of August, with organisers hoping the total will climb even further.

The fundraising day was organised with the aim of supporting the MS North West Therapy Centre and the vital services it provides to people living with multiple sclerosis throughout the region. What began as an idea to bring people together through music developed into a full day of entertainment, family activities and community fundraising.

Musicians from across the country generously gave their time, with music ranging from traditional Irish music, folk and country. The day also featured a special performance from Leitrim Rose Catherine Cullen, while families enjoyed a BBQ and refreshments, face painting, an ice-cream van, garden games and other activities.
For the organisers, however, the most significant part of the day was seeing the generosity of the community reflected in the fundraising total.

A special thank you goes to The Leitrim Inn, and particularly Adeline and Karen, for their incredible support and for kindly providing the venue and setting for the fundraiser. Their generosity played a huge part in making the day possible.
Thanks are also extended to Martin Costello for looking after the sound and visual production throughout the event, ensuring that the many performances could be enjoyed by the crowd, and to David Knight for capturing the atmosphere of the day through his photography.

The organisers would like to extend their sincere thanks to all of the performers who generously donated their time and talents, including David Kiernan; Mossie and Tom Martin, joined by Liam Purcell; Ceol na Ceangail; Trinity Island, joined by special guest Sean Martin; Wallop the Spot, who were joined by Leitrim Rose Catherine Cullen; Peter and Tony; Eddie McCaffrey; Cootehall Church Choir; and Reel Craic, as well as the volunteers, local businesses, sponsors, families and members of the community who attended, donated, worked behind the scenes or supported the fundraiser in any way.
With more than €5,000 already raised and the iDonate page remaining open throughout August, the fundraising effort is not over yet.
