County Roscommon has second lowest disposable income per person

New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that County Roscommon has the second lowest disposable income per person in Ireland.
The data shows disposable income per person in the county at €24,685 - 18% lower than the state average.
Only Longford had a lower disposable income per person at €23,725, while in Donegal the figure was €24,686.
At the other end of the scale, Dublin had the highest disposable income per person at €33,889 per person, well above the national average of €30,139.
Limerick recorded the second highest figure at €30,879, followed by Cork at €30,748.
Roscommon's social benefits per capita was just above the national average at €7,417, according to the CSO data.
Over a third (35%) of all employed people in Ireland worked in the Dublin area in 2024, followed by Cork with 12% and Galway with 6%.
Personal finance expert and founder of honest.ie Dan Malone said that the figures reminded us that where we lived could influence our income, but good financial habits could make a real difference regardless of location.
