County Roscommon native appointed Garda Chief Superintendent

Newly appointed Chief Supt Eamon Curley.

Taughmaconnell native Eamon Curley has recently been promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent within An Garda Síochána.

A native of Skyvalley, Mr Curley will now be based in Kilkenny. Up until recently he held the post of Superintendent in Tullamore and prior to that he was a detective sergeant at Athlone Garda Station.

Gardaí in Laois/Offaly have acknowledged his well-deserved promotion and stated that he had been "a beacon of professionalism, empathy, and kindness" during his time in Laois/Offaly, always keeping the public at the heart of every decision he made.

They noted that “his dedication to service and his ability to thrive under pressure have made a lasting impact on our communities. Kilkenny is gaining a leader of immense calibre, and while Laois/Offaly will surely miss him, we know he will continue to bring his unwavering dedication and care to his new role”.
