County Roscommon woman selected for global tech conference in Italy

Ballintubber native Yvonne Sarsfield was recently selected to attend the prestigious UN Virtual Worlds Day conference in Turin, Italy.

The international event brought together over 650 global leaders, innovators, and stakeholders focused on integrating emerging technologies into education and shaping the future of digital public infrastructure.

Yvonne is an instructional designer and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) specialist at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Sligo. She specialises in the integration of cutting-edge technologies into education and is a passionate advocate for digital transformation in education, particularly in making learning more inclusive and accessible through technology.

Drawing from her extensive expertise, she has presented innovative projects at educational technology (edtech) conferences across Ireland and internationally. Her work explores how immersive technologies, such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) can be effectively used to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
