Athlone Town Stadium, which has been the subject of another burglary.
A local soccer club has said that it is extremely disheartening to be the target of another burglary.
Athlone Town AFC confirmed that in the early hours of January 25th (yesterday), it fell victim to a theft in which electrical equipment valued at approximately €3,000 was stolen.
The equipment was described as being “crucial for our operations, particularly for streaming our matches, which connects us with our supporters.”
In a statement, the club said: “This repeated occurrence is extremely disheartening. Our club has always strived to bring our football to as many people as possible and these incidents severely impact our ability to do so.
“We appeal to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of our stadium around 3 a.m. on January 25th or anyone who might have information about the incident.
“Furthermore, if you come across individuals selling electrical equipment under suspicious circumstances, we urge you to report it to us or directly to the Gardai in Athlone.
“This is more than just a loss of equipment — it’s an attack on the spirit of our club. We are determined to overcome this setback and continue our mission of bringing football to our supporters. We appreciate any assistance the public can provide in this matter.
“Thank you for your ongoing support and vigilance," the statement concluded.
