Local Gardaí arrest man suspected of drink and drug driving
Local Gardaí recently arrested a young man suspected of drink and drug driving.
Gardaí in Longford stopped a car for speeding on Good Friday night. The young, learner driver was unaccompanied and the car had no valid NCT, tax or L plates on display. He failed a roadside alcohol breathalyser test and also tested positive for cocaine.
The driver was arrested and the car was seized.
“We work hard to enforce road traffic legislation nationwide and this is an example of what we are up against on a daily basis, and what endangers you as road users,” Gardaí said on X, formerly Twitter.
