Three arrested in connection with Roscommon burglaries are released

Three individuals arrested and detained as part of  an investigation into burglaries in County Roscommon have been released without charge, Gardai have confirmed.

Three individuals arrested and detained as part of  an investigation into burglaries in County Roscommon have been released without charge, Gardai have confirmed.

This morning, Sunday, Gardai confirmed that the three had been released and that files would now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

As part of an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity and burglaries in counties Roscommon, Mayo,  Longford, Westmeath and Sligo, Gardaí arrested the three in the Dublin Metropolitan Region last Tuesday.

The operation involved the search of four properties in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) where North Western Region personnel were assisted by members from the Armed Support Unit, DMR West and DMR South along with DMR Regional support and members from Athlone.

The three males (aged 26, 21 and a juvenile) were arrested and taken to Garda stations in the Mayo/Roscommon/Longford Division, where they were detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007. All three have now been released without charge.
