Driver caught speeding at 114kph in 50kph zone
Driver was detected doing 114km/hr in a 50km/hr zone.
A motorist is expected to appear in court after Roscommon gardaí detected a vehicle being driven at 114km/hr in a 50km/hr zone.
Roscommon Road Policing Unit were out and about when they detected the vehicle travelling at high speed in the Trien area of the county during a planned operation.
Court proceedings are expected to follow.
This follows on from another vehicle which was detected last week being driven at a speed of 138kph in a 100kph zone.
When stopped, the driver was drug tested at the roadside. A positive reading for cocaine and Benzodiazepines was detected. The driver was arrested with court proceedings expected to follow.
Gardai are appealing to all motorists to slow down.
