Fourteen year-old found driving untaxed tractor

Gardaí in County Westmeath recently encountered a tractor being operated by a 14-year-old, accompanied by a 13-year-old passenger.
Gardai said that the vehicle hadn’t been taxed in just short of 11 years. "You must be 16 years of age or above and licensed to drive a tractor,” said Gardai.
Gardai added that proceedings would now follow for both the teenager driver and their father.
“As we approach the silage season and children and young people’s summer holidays from school, tractor safety on and off the farm is paramount,” said Gardai.
