Further tributes paid by colleagues to late Cllr Anthony Waldron

The late councillor, Anthony Waldron.
Tributes were paid to the late Cllr Anthony Waldron at last Thursday’s meeting of Roscommon Municipal District (MD), the first meeting of the MD since the untimely passing of the Independent councillor.
Cllr Waldron, who was a Roscommon MD councillor, passed away suddenly on the morning of Sunday, February 16th.
Leading the tributes at Thursday’s meeting, MD Cathaoirleach, Cllr Larry Brennan, said that extensive tributes had been paid to the late councillor at the last plenary meeting of the local authority but it would be remiss of the Roscommon MD councillors not to acknowledge his loss.
A minute’s silence was held at the outset of the meeting in his memory.
Councillors remarked on how Cllr Waldron would be a huge loss to the county, his passion for community work and his involvement in many projects such as promoting the Suck Valley Way.
Cllr Brennan proposed a vote of sympathy be extended to the late councillor’s family, friends and the wider community.
Anthony Waldron's month’s mind Mass was held last Saturday evening in St. Bride's Church, Ballintubber.
