Gardaí seize cannabis and cocaine valued at €82,000 in County Roscommon

The drugs seized in Ballybride, County Roscommon, on Thursday.
Gardaí from the Longford/Roscommon Drug Unit seized €62,000 worth of cocaine and €20,000 worth of cannabis in County Roscommon on Thursday, February 20th.
As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the region, Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit were alerted to a vehicle in the Ballybride area and conducted a search for its owner.
They apprehended a man — aged in his 20s — and recovered a bag containing cocaine with an estimated street value of €52,000 and cannabis with a street value of €20,000 (pending analysis).
The car was searched and a further €10,000 worth of cocaine was seized.
The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
The man was arrested and has been detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
