Garda appeal following serious assault in Sligo

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an alleged incident of serious assault, which occurred in Sligo town on Monday evening.

Shortly after 6.30 p.m., gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident on Adelaide Street.

A man, aged in his 30s, is being treated for serious injuries in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, and remains in a critical condition.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

Anyone in the vicinity of Adelaide Street, Temple Street or John Street on Monday, September 28th, between 5.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m., who may have video footage (including dash-cam), are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
