Ireland's most romantic towns revealed

The team at HenParty.ie have examined online search data over a five year period to find the most loved-up spots across the nation.

Based on their findings, Athy, Co. Kildare has been crowned as Ireland's most romantic town, scoring 578 out of a possible 800 on HenParty.ie's loved-up scale.

Ballinasloe makes the list of the ten most romantic towns in Ireland. The full Top 10 list in order is: 1. Athy, Co. Kildare 2. Newbridge, Co. Kildare 3. Ennis. Co. Clare 4. Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary 5. Ranafast, Co. Donegal 6. Celbridge, Co. Kildare 7. Kildare town, Co. Kildare 8. New Ross, Co. Wexford 9. Cavan Town 10. Ballinasloe. Co. Galway.

At the other end of the scale, romantics in places like Roscommon, Leixlip, Maynooth and Mullingar may be disappointed this Valentines Day. All of these towns ranked in the bottom 10, making them some of the most unromantic towns in the country.

Using data from online Google searches for eight specific Valentine's Day related terms, namely roses, flowers, perfume, red wine, white wine, prosecco, chocolates, and Notino (an online perfume retailer), HenParty.ie  analysed these over a period of 5 years to determine the romantic hotspots in Ireland.
