Several hundred homes across County Roscommon are without power this morning following thunderstorms on Sunday night/Monday morning.
Homes and businesses in the Boyle, Castlerea, Ballaghaderreen, Arigna and Roscommon areas have all reported power outages.
ESB Networks says its crews are working on the faults and are hoping to have power restored as quickly as possible.
For several hours on Sunday night/Monday morning lightning storms filled the Roscommon skies followed by several bounts of thunder and heavy rain. Check out the video below of the lightning in the Castlerea area captured by Barry Egan and posted on X.
Met Eireann advises that heavy showers will clear from northeast Connacht this morning, leaving a largely dry day with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds in the morning, then easing light to moderate.
