Man charged with robbing Roscommon bank sent forward for trial

A man who has been charged with robbing a bank in Strokestown has been sent forward for trial to next sessions of Roscommon Circuit Court.
Thirty-three year old Stephen Maughan with an address at 125 Callan Bridge Park, County Armagh is charged with robbing the manager of the Bank of Ireland, Church Street, Strokestown on April 20th, 2018.
He also faces a further charge that on the same date at Cloonshannagh, Hillstreet he entered a property as a trespasser to commit criminal damage.
Mr Maughan was extradited into the state on October 28th, 2025 on foot of an European arrest warrant.
Returning Mr Maughan for trial in March, Judge Michael Connellan remanded him in custody.
