Man dies following motorcycle crash

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A man in his 30s has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, yesterday morning, Thursday, 25th June.

The single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on the L1556 Ballinamore to Cloone road at around 8:40a.m..

The motorcyclist, was brought by air ambulance to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. He has since been pronounced deceased. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The Coroner has been notified.

The road was closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the L1556 Ballinamore to Cloone road between 8:15am and 9:00am on 25th June, 2026 are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
