A 26-year-old man was given the benefit of the probation act at a recent sitting of Roscommon District Court.

Judge Vincent Deane was told that Seosaimh Nolan, with an address at Apt 6, Old Ulster Bank, Glenamaddy, County Galway, broke flower pots and spat in the face of a woman as he was being removed from the MacDara Frawley accommodation on the Galway Road in Roscommon Town. The incidents happened on December 5th, 2024.

His solicitor, Con Harlow, said his client was ashamed and apologised unreservedly.

He was extremely intoxicated and provided €100 in restitution for the broken flower pots, the solicitor continued.

He explained that his client was involved in services and had learned a salutary lesson, and he asked for leniency.

“I’m going to give him an opportunity because of the way he has met the case,” the judge said and he applied the probation act.
