Met Éireann issues further fog warning
Fog warning issued
Met Éireann has issued a further fog warning for County Roscommon.
This morning the forecaster issued a Status Yellow Fog Warning for County Roscommon and most of the rest of the country, which will come into effect this evening at 6pm. It will last until 10 am tomorrow.
It is warning of continued widespread mist and fog, with poor visibility and hazardous travelling conditions.
Since yesterday morning, fog has not lifted from much of the county and Gardaí have urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads.
“It’s essential that if you’re driving during periods of dense fog, you have the fog lights on,” Gardaí said. “Please slow down, take your time, look out for pedestrians and cyclists, and leave a safe distance between you and the car ahead.”
