A much loved County Roscommon business has closed its doors for the last time.
Yesterday, Sunday March 1st, was Town and Country Interiors’ final day after more than 30 years in business in Athleague.
Aidan and Patricia Donnelly opened the hugely popular home decor and furniture shop on Main Street in 1995.
“For over 30 years, we’ve had the privilege of bringing designer-led beauty and bespoke creativity into your homes,” the owners said. “While we’ve been honoured by awards, our greatest reward has always been the friendships formed within these walls.”
Auctioneer and former Roscommon County Council Cathaoirleach Ivan Connaughton wished the couple every happiness as they step into a well-earned retirement.
“After 32 years serving the community, today marks the closing of Town and Country Interiors Athleague,” DNG Ivan Connaughton said online yesterday. “For over three decades, their shop has been a trusted and familiar presence on the street. It was never just about interiors. It was about the warm welcome, the honest advice, and the pride they took in looking after their customers.
“Aidan and Patricia have been part of the fabric of the town for 32 years, and they will be greatly missed by customers, neighbours and friends alike.”
The auctioneers thanked the couple for their friendship and for everything they have given to the local community.
“We wish you both good health, happiness and many enjoyable years ahead.”
