National rain and thunderstorm warning issued

Heavy rain, hail, and thunderstorms are forecast across the country on Sunday, with Met Éireann issuing a nationwide status yellow weather warning.
The warning came into effect at noon and remains in place until 9pm tonight.
Met Éireann said that there will be heavy showers or longer spells of rain, “with thunderstorms bringing some lightning and hail”.
The forecaster warned of possible localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility and possible lightning damage. It also said that outdoor events could be impacted.
Today has seen heavy showers around the county and motorists and other road users are urged to take care.
