Repair works have been completed at Lough Mask Water Treatment Plant.

Repair works have been completed at Lough Mask Water Treatment Plant and normal supply is returning to all customers on the Lough Mask Public Water Supply, including several hundred in the Ballinlough area of County Roscommon and the Williamstown area of County Galway.

An electrical fault at the water treatment plant had impacted water production and some customers experienced discolouration, reduced water pressure or interruptions to their supply.

According to the company dedicated crews “worked tirelessly” to ensure that the plant was operating as normal as quickly as possible with supply now returning.

Padraig Philbin, Uisce Éireann said: “The majority of customers should have their water returned by now, however, it may take until tonight to fully restore to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network. We understand the inconvenience an outage can have, and we appreciate everyone’s co-operation.”

•The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and updates are also issued via X (formerly Twitter) @IWCare.
