The Northern Lights were visible over County Roscommon last night.
The lights, also known as Aurora borealis, were very clear in most parts of the county.
Aurora borealis occurs as a result of charged particles from the sun launched along Earth’s magnetic field colliding with gases in Earth’s upper atmosphere.

Among the pictures captured was a stunning one over taken at the Gaelic Chieftain sculpture on the N4 outside of Boyle by Enda Regan, which is attracting huge attention online.
