A former Roscommon senior footballer who recently opened a boxing club in New York is proudly displaying photographs on his gym walls of elite Roscommon boxing sisters, Aoife and Lisa O’Rourke.

In a message on Instagram, Donal said the photographs of the two sisters were hanging front and centre in his gym. The photographs are signed by Aoife and Lisa, who he described as “amazingly talented boxers from my home town in County Roscommon, Ireland.” Lisa is a World champion winning boxer and her older sister Aoife is a double European champion, who has also qualified for this summers’s Olympics in Paris.
