It was the night Paddy Joe met Paddy Joe!
Last Monday evening, nine-year-old Daire O’Connor took on the role of legendary Roscommon supporter Paddy Joe Burke as part of a novelty act at the parish Scór Na nÓg Finals in Knockcroghery.
To his delight, Daire later met the man himself when the popular Roscommon figure made a surprise appearance on the night.
Daire’s dad Gordon said that his son and all the other young participants “got a great kick” out of Paddy Joe being present at the finals held before a large crowd in Culleen Hall.
And by all accounts, Paddy Joe was highly impressed with Daire’s impression of him!
