An estimated 2,662 ESB customer are without electricity this afternoon in the Athlone area due to works.
The fault took place at about 3.50 p.m. today and is expected to be repaired by 5 p.m..
The ESB said it apologies for the loss of supply and is currently working to repair the fault affecting premises and will restore power as quickly as possible.
