Popular local cattle breeder to be laid to rest today

Popular Strokeston cattle breeder Tony Bosquette, who died suddenly on Sunday, will be laid to rest later this morning, Thursday.

Many tributes have been paid to Mr Bosquette from Castlenode, Strokestown, who was a very very well-known figure on the cattle show circuit.

Among the many messages of condolence, one sympathiser described him as “the most knowledgeable and passionate breeder I ever had the pleasure of knowing”.

Another message of condolence outlined how Mr Bosquette was “so proud of his pedigree Charolais cattle and had such great knowledge of charolais breeding”.

He will be greatly missed by his sisters Mary, Sr. Helen, Terry, Carmel, Barbara and Joan, brothers Joe, Gerry, Dominic, Kenny and David, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncle, cousins, relatives, neighbours and his many friends, especially his best friend Martin Lavin.

Anthony is predeceased by his parents Johnny and Maisie, his brother Kieran and his brother-in-law Frank.

Funeral Mass will take place at Strokestown Parish Church this morning at 11a.m. with burial afterwards in Bumlin Cemetery.
